AWS Unveils Cloud Institute Virtual Program to Educate Developers

📍 United States

In an endeavor to address the shortage of proficient cloud developers, AWS is launching the Cloud Institute, a new virtual educational initiative.
This one-year program comprises 12 diverse courses spread over four quarters and has been meticulously crafted by AWS experts, drawing insights from customer enterprises and partners, including Accenture. The course offerings include practical, game-based learning, featuring activities like application development.
Prospective developers have the option to learn directly from AWS instructors during live sessions scheduled for both the US West Coast and East Coast time zones or access content on demand, allowing flexibility to accommodate varying schedules.

What's Included in the Curriculum?
The curriculum, as outlined by AWS, encompasses over 100 interactive labs, two capstone projects, and the creation of a portfolio showcasing the technical skills and capabilities of aspiring developers for potential employers.

The courses span a spectrum of foundational subjects, covering business fundamentals, cloud basics, developer essentials, and job readiness, as detailed by AWS. The syllabus delves into cloud and other IT fundamentals, including AWS architecture, computing, databases, networking, security, storage, Python, machine learning, data analytics, and generative AI with Amazon CodeWhisperer.
Capstone projects in the program provide hands-on experience by presenting participants with real industry challenges to solve.

AWS explained, "Aspiring developers design and develop a working application that demonstrates their skills and ability to use AWS services and Python code to create cloud-based solutions that solve real-world scenarios."
Inclusive in the course curriculum is assistance for exam preparation, along with two vouchers for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and AWS Certified Developer Associate certification exams.
Upon program completion, participants will be awarded an AWS Cloud Institute program certificate, and AWS partner organizations will facilitate networking opportunities, including recruitment events and job board creation.
